Data Analysis
We are building a TSAP that is data driven and community centered to save lives.
The safety analysis looks for trends in crash types and factors contributing to deaths and serious injury crashes.
Crash trends
- While overall crashes have decreased slightly since 2018, fatal and serious injury crashes have increased. This is consistent with other statewide and national crash trends.
Contributing factors
- Behavior of people - speeding, alcohol, failure to yield
- Roadway characteristics - intersections, lighting conditions, not-to-standard biking and walking facilities
Study Area
Safety improvement projects will look different depending on the area. We are looking at rural and urban areas of the County separately. Specific safety solutions will be developed based on the different needs of the urban and rural areas.
